Unplugging permanently is a tantalising thought. Yet even if we divest from social media, most of us are tethered to the internet in ways that are crucial for our survival. In addition to our internet bill, we pay a toll to exist in cyberspace; an offering of data in exchange for our "free" movement there. Every time you go online your behaviour is monitored, tracked, stored and sold. We may try and disengage, we may try to remain anonymous, but these data-hungry structures nevertheless cast their shadows over our lives.
